Anxiety Is Your Brain Trying to Protect You

Anxiety is your brain’s alarm system. Sometimes it’s helpful. Sometimes it’s too loud.

When anxiety is constant, your body stays in “fight or flight” mode. This can cause racing thoughts, tension, trouble sleeping, or irritability.

Small steps can help calm the nervous system:

  • Slow, deep breathing

  • Limiting caffeine

  • Consistent sleep

  • Grounding exercises

Medication can also be helpful when anxiety becomes overwhelming or interferes with daily life. The goal isn’t to change who you are—it’s to give your brain a break.
